Apostle Alfred Showers is an anointed teacher with a passion for instructing and encouraging the body of Christ. Many agree that an encounter with Apostle Showers is an unforgettable experience, and this is a universal reaction to all who know him or have heard him teach. Apostle Showers is a simple yet remarkable man who is used in an extraordinary way by an extraordinary God. He possesses a contagious and inspiring measure of faith beyond natural belief.
The late Elect Lady Sopheia Lorraine Saulsberry-Showers was Co-Pastor of Showers of Blessing Deliverance Temple in the city of Hammond, State of Louisiana. She was the wife of Apostle Alfred Showers and the mother of 4 children: Ronnie Jermaine Saulsberry, Consuela Lahoya White, Kelly Nicole (Carson) Barze, and Al Fred Markell (Tamekia) Showers, in which she calls her Diamonds. Elect Lady Sopheia L. Showers was a woman of God, working the works of Him that hath called and has sent her, anticipating hearing the words..."Well done, thou good and faithful servant"
Showers of Blessing Deliverance Temple has a vision and purpose, which is: Reaching Out to Change a Nation, Bringing Families to Christ, By the Power of God, IN BROTHERLY LOVE!
Here in the temple, the Word of God is taught by our Pastor in its' simplest form, so that all may hear, understand and gain knowledge to tell others about the divine love, honor, and protection of God. Rightly divided, the Word is deposited in our spirits for salvation, encouragement, healing and growth in every area and on every level of our lives.
We are a non-denominational church. We do not believe that a certain religion is right or wrong. All we see is Jesus, and all our Pastor teaches us is the unadulterated Word of God.
God has delivered us from a world of sin, and we reach back into that world:
All this is done as the Word comes "Alive" through the preaching, living, and witnessing the gospel of Jesus.
Showers of Blessing is a Word-based church centered on developing its members while seeking the lost and reaching out to those in need.
Through biblical teaching, discipleship, and compassionate outreach, we strive to share the love of Christ, meet spiritual and practical needs, and bring hope, healing, and restoration to our community and beyond.
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is rightly divided and taught in its simplest form so that all may hear, understand, and gain knowledge to share the divine love, honor, and protection of God. The Word of God is alive and active, deposited in our spirits for salvation, encouragement, healing, and growth in every area and on every level of our lives. The Bible is our final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, power, and glory. God is holy, loving, faithful, and sovereign, and He desires relationship with mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and revealed the heart and will of the Father. Jesus died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for believers. Jesus Christ is Lord, Savior, and the only way to eternal life.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Mankind is saved not by works, but by repentance, faith, and confession that Jesus Christ is Lord. Through salvation, believers are delivered from sin, restored into the right relationship with God, and empowered to live a transformed life. Salvation brings forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within believers to guide, teach, comfort, convict, empower, and transform. The Holy Spirit equips believers with spiritual gifts and power to live a holy life, to witness effectively, and to serve God and others in love. He makes the Word of God come alive through preaching, living, and witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Church exists to worship God, fellowship with one another, proclaim the Gospel, educate and disciple believers, and minister to the needs of others in love. As a non-denominational church, we focus not on religion, but on Jesus Christ and the unadulterated Word of God. We are called to seek the lost, restore the broken, encourage the hurting, and demonstrate God’s love through service.
Eternity
We believe in the reality of eternity. Those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will spend eternity in heaven in the presence of God, enjoying eternal life. Those who reject Christ will be eternally separated from God. Eternal life begins at salvation and continues forever with God through Jesus Christ.
To demonstrate God's love through service by witnessing and bringing people into the membership of God's family, educating them through discipleship, and developing them into the maturity of Christ likeness.
To become aware of the Holy presence of God and to follow God’s leadership in Love. Worship is man’s adoration of Love and confession to God’s communion. “But the hour cometh, and now is, when true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him is Spirit, and in Truth. (John 4:23-24)
To welcome new members into the fellowship of the family of God, the church of the living God, and the support and foundation of the truth. Supporting, loving, and admonishing one another by assembling together, praying for, strengthening, and encouraging one another during times of trials and tribulations. Loving one another as we love ourselves. (Ephesians 2:19)
To be a witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ who came to provide salvation for man. Our church places high priority on proclaiming the Word of God because Christ commissions us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded. (Matthew 28:19-20)
To lead people to the knowledge and acceptance of Christ our Lord, to teach and train them to perform the functions of the Church, and to help them develop toward full Christian maturity. Christ is the example for us, “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour of God and man”. (Luke 2:52)
To respond to man’s needs in Love so Christ can be magnified. We are a ministering church seeking to serve man in Christ’s name without thought of personal return. We reach out in love to both Christians and non-Christians. “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my Disciples, if ye love one another. (John 13:34-35)
